VCAP Process

in Henrico County

**It is the responsibility of applicant to follow through with VCAP Process, not the Districts.'**

1. Connect 

  • Reach out to district staff about interest in VCAP by emailing vcap@henrico.us.

  • Read over program specifications found in the VCAP Manual

  • Fill out the Site Visit Request Form Below:​

Prior to the site visit: 

  • Contact Miss Utility to locate any underground utilities that may interfere with installation

  • Determine what the Resource Concern is (erosion, bare, compacted soils, excess runoff). Examples of Resource Concerns are found here.

  • Send pictures of site to vcap@henrico.us

  • Staff will schedule date and time to meet with you at site to determine if site is eligible for VCAP practice and discuss the nest steps with you.

2. Site Visit Assessment

(September through October

and March through May)

3. Design Plan

  1. If site is found eligible for a VCAP practice, provide all necessary documents for application

  2. With provided documents, ranking score determines eligibility. Application Must rank 65 or higher to be reviewed.

  3. Sign

4. Application Review (typically January through March)

  1. Application is reviewed by Henricopolis Board and if approved, reviewed by VCAP

5. Installation​

  1. Once official approval is given, project installation can begin

  2. Final inspection is carried out by staff once project is completed

6. Reimbursement​

  1. Final inspection is carried out by staff once project is completed

  2. request for reimbursement

  3. Maintenance for 10-Year Lifespan
